Plaza de Colon is a central square dedicated to Christopher Columbus, a great sailor who explored America following the instructions of the Spanish Crown. His statue can be seen in the center of the roundabout. Nearby, you will see the biggest Spanish flag of the whole country. That’s why this place is used for events that have to do with Spain, such as football and sports celebrations.

In this square you can also visit the National Library, which owns more than 30 million publications, including but not limited to: books, magazines, brochures, drawings.  Manuscripts by Leonardo da Vinci and firsts editions of great stories like Don Quixote can be admired here. Also,  there is a Waxworks that reproduces some Spanish celebrities, a casino for gambling, and a Hard Rock Café to immerse yourself in a very American atmosphere.
